The first application programmed on the system is on-line analysis of electromyographic signal. The samping frequency is 20 kHz and a large amount of signal processing is necessary. The signal processing includes isolation of muscle action potentials, sorting of the potentials according to motor unit, and measurement of potential parameters. The general applicability of the system to other measurements is being tested by programming an averager and a system for automatic analysis of long term EEG recordings.
