Descripteurs : AK2 - EMG

The authors use the EMG power spectra analysis, the Lindstrom approach, to calculate conduction velocities within muscle fibres. They found its value for the normal human biceps brachialis to be 3.8 +/- 0.2 M/Sec, in agreement with other investigators. In five cases of Duchenne dyatrophy and one case of limb-girdle dystrophy they found significantly faster values, respectively 4.8 +/- 0.4 and 4.6 +/- 0.8 M/Sec. They attribute these findings to the faster velocity within the hypertrophied fibers in patients.
