The purpose of this study was to determine the physical activity of physical therapists during clinical practice. Physical therapy generally is assumed to be a physically demanding profession. The occupational demands of physical therapy practice, however, have not been documented. Because the physical activity level of PTs during clinical practice is unknown currently, the investigation of this aspect of clinical practice is warranted and long overdue.
