The assessment methods utilized in the present study include the McMaster family assessment device (FAD), a newly developed questionnaire designed to evaluate families according to the McMaster model of family functioning. The Family Invulnerability Test (FIT) a systematic assessment of family capabilities that may be used to guide the family physician's interventions and supportive interactions and based on the Family Adjustment and Adaptation response (FAAR) and FACES-III, the third version in a series of FACES scales developed to assess the two major dimensions on the Circumplex Model (ie, family cohesion and adaptability)
