Bracing and rehabilitation are common aspects of an ankle treatment regimen. Recent evidence suggests that bracing and taping are effective in restricting ankle motion to within normal inversion/eversion ranges. They also improve kinesthesia and neuromuscular response, and decrease the velocity of inversion movements. Rehabilitation studies suggest that strength and balance training of the uninjured limb may be useful in facilitating recovery of the injured limb. It has also been demonstrated that daily balance training using wobble boards reduces the risk of further injury.
