Patients needing orthopedic and other rehabilitation aids are often in addition suffering from a congenital or acquired neurogenic disturbance of the bladder function. The technical management of these persons is mainly focussed on technical aids as for instance individual seats or wheelchairs. This article tries in a holistic approach to include problems of the bladder function and consequences resulting from its specific individual disturbances with respect to micturation in order to improve the understanding of the requirements of these patients.
