This article presents an overview of occupational therapy assessments and
treatment options for individuals with neuromuscular disabilities, with a
particular focus on children with neuromuscular disorders. The discussion
includes descriptions of standard treatments, commercial adaptive equipment, and
homemade adaptive solutions. The state of the art in therapeutic and assistive
robots and orthoses for the upper and lower extremity is also provided.
